4-year-old found dead in pond after vanishing from family’s porch, Maryland cops say
A young boy’s body was recovered from a pond in Maryland, state police say.
Troopers said 4-year-old Fox Piper was reported missing around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. Family members said they last saw the boy around 6:30 p.m. on their front porch in Oakland.
Hours later, at about 10 p.m., members of the Deep Creek fire department dive team found Fox’s body in a nearby pond, according to an April 21 news release from Maryland State Police.
Police said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
Oakland is about 170 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
