A four-bedroom home for sale in New York for only $4,000? Yes, but there’s a big catch
On the outside, this house that’s listed for a jaw-dropping $4,000 in Syracuse, New York, might seem too good to be true. And when you pop your head inside, you’ll find out that, well, it actually is.
“Near Westside two-family, two bedrooms in each apartment with potential for third bedroom. House has water damage and will require major renovation,” the listing on Realtor.com says. “Property has driveway and garage. Estimated renovation cost is approximately $136k, buyer will need to show proof of funds in the amount of $140k.”
The house needs a lot of love and attention to preserve it to its natural state, but it has a colorful background.
“The house was home to many families over its century+ lifespan, but most recently was home to Arthur Grummons. Arthur was born in Cortland, NY and spent most of his life in Syracuse,” an Instagram post notes. “He was a self-employed owner of Grummons Service and was an Army Veteran of World War II.”
