Zillow Gone Wild is in love with this estate for sale. Can you spot its ‘lil’ hat’?
Resting neatly between scarlet trees with bursts of gold and basil green, this five-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate with the whimsical charm of a fairy tale cottage awaits a new owner in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Also, it looks like a place Paddington Bear might squat for the winter.
“Introducing 20630 Linwood Road, nestled on two acres in the heart of Cottagewood USA,” the listing on Compass says. “This gated estate sits on 134 feet of premium northwest facing, sandy, level lakeshore on Lake Minnetonka.”
On the outside, the residence — which is listed for $8.995 million — does have a visage that projects a semblance of English countryside fantasy, while inside it’s a world of posh sleekness from the windows to the walls.
Massive windows soak in the views while deep hardwood floors and cabinetry reflect the sun’s rays as they bounce off the water and into the home.
Per the listing, features include:
Chef’s kitchen
Study
Wet bar
Fish tank
Sports court
The 10,692-square-foot home was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, an X — formerly known as Twitter — account that showcases unique houses on the market. Some people were smitten by its strange architectural charisma, while others were obsessed with the caption the account used.
If you aren’t familiar with “Chappelle’s Show,” don’t bother.
“Here’s an absolutely gorgeous house in Excelsior, MN that sits on 134 sandy lakefront feet of Lake Minnetonka, and what better way to purify yourself than in the Waters of Lake Minnetonka?” the post asks.
“I get this reference,” one person noted about the caption.
“The house has a lil hat,” another joked about the exterior, which does look a little like it stole Paddington’s hat.
“These the type of houses I’d buy if I were rich,” someone said.
Lake Minnetonka is about 15 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
The listing is held by Sarah Polovitz and John C. Adams.
