Uber driver stops for gas and lottery ticket — then scores big prize in Washington
An Uber driver snagged a lottery ticket while refueling his car in Washington.
Then, he realized he won $110,000.
The lucky lottery player from Shoreline bought a HIT 5 ticket while filling up his tank with gas before driving for Uber, Washington’s Lottery said in an Nov. 1 news release.
He carefully picked out his numbers for the game, lottery officials said.
He checked his ticket later that evening and realized he scored a big prize.
The man told lottery officials he has a few plans for the $110,000. First, he wants to take his family on a vacation “they will never forget.”
He also wants to take his two children out for dinner to celebrate and plans to pay off some of his debt.
HIT 5 costs $1. A player selects five numbers between one and 42. If a player matches all five numbers, they score the jackpot.
