A grim discovery on the Chattahoochee River prompted a call to 911, Georgia police said.

Fishermen spotted a body in the water at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, near the Campbellton Park Boat Ramp in Chattahoochee Hills, according to the city’s police department.

Police and fire rescue crews pulled the body from the water with help from Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources, authorities said in a news release.

The person’s identity remains a mystery, and the body will undergo an autopsy at the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police did not release additional details.

Chattahoochee Hills is about a 30-mile drive southwest from downtown Atlanta.
