A 92-year-old Michigan man was determined to win a lottery jackpot, and he did just that.

The man, who wished to stay anonymous, told lottery officials he bought two Lucky 7s Fast Cash tickets in Lansing on June 25, according to a news release from the Michigan Lottery.

“I had my eye on the Fast Cash game after seeing the jackpot was on the rise,” he said, per the release. “I stopped into a store and said: ‘I’m going after that jackpot!’ I bought two tickets and didn’t win, so I stopped into a different store later that day and purchased two more tickets.”

The man’s luck changed with those two tickets.

“I won $50 on one, and on the other I matched number ‘59’ with ‘Jackpot’ underneath. I knew what I was seeing, but I scanned the ticket to be sure. When a message came up to file a claim at the Lottery office, I knew that I’d really won the jackpot,” he told lottery officials.

When the man claimed his prize he learned he won the $434,105 Lucky 7s Fast Cash progressive jackpot.

He said he “plans to share his winnings with his family,” according to the release.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
