‘Extra cute’ cat up for adoption in Kansas may be ‘plotting your downfall.’ Meet Chloe
A moody cat that’s up for adoption has people talking thanks to a creative shelter post and her very adorable face. But there’s a catch — a person can let her into their life, but only “if you meet her royal standards.”
Meet Chloe, a Persian wild child who seems to believe she’s doing re-shoots for “Mean Girls.” According to a July 19 Facebook post, the Helping Hands Humane Society in Kansas referred to her as playful as well as not a morning person — but all the time.
“This is Chloe. Chloe has a grumpy face and a personality to match,” the shelter said.
“You may find her staring at you from afar, plotting your downfall. She’ll grace you with a slow blink, granting you permission to pet her. Feeling honored, you reach out and she will allow a head scratch or two. She then flops over on her back, looking extra cute.”
And that’s when the show starts.
“SWAT. HISS. SWAT,” the post continues. “She’ll start purring and meowing for more attention. You naively reach out to pet her with your hand...‘NOT LIKE THAT, YOU PEASANT. PET ME WITH YOUR EYES ONLY,’ she declares.”
Like all queens, Chloe comes with a list of major “don’ts,” which include:
Children
Quick moving people
Dogs
“Dare to meet Chloe? Stop by—if you meet her royal standards, she might not banish you far far away..from her,” the post said. “Good luck, brave souls.”
People in the comment section immediately fell in love with the temperamental kitty.
“When I was volunteering I met Chloe when she was in intake!” one person said. “She takes a little to settle but after I gave her a treat she let me pet her and the next day I opened her kennel she did not even hiss and immediately came to me for pets.”
“She needs her own pet page!” another expressed.
“Chloe is seriously out here judging EVERYONE!!! I can’t wait to hear of her adoption and NEED updates!!” someone commented.
“I wish I was worthy of her presence,” one person noted.
“….am I Chloe?” another asked.
“Awe new grumpy cat should be famous,” someone said.
“Loving this Catitude,” one person exclaimed.
The shelter is located in Topeka.
