A Michigan man was filled with excitement after finding out he won a huge lottery prize.

The 53-year-old man, who wished to remain anonymous, was entered into the Michigan Lottery’s 500X Money Maker second chance game, according to a July 23 news release from the Michigan Lottery.

“I won a 500X Money Maker second chance prize in one of the previous drawings, so I decided to check my email while I was at work one day to see if by chance I had any emails about winning another prize,” the man told lottery officials.

The man said he didn’t see an email from the lottery, so that’s when he decided to check his spam folder.

“Sure enough, there was an email from the Michigan Lottery regarding a second chance prize,” he said, per the release.

The man had been selected in a random drawing on July 2.

“When I opened the email and saw I’d won the $100,000 prize, I started jumping up and down! I’m not much of a dancer, but I even broke out into a happy dance because I was so excited! I called my wife right after to tell her the good news.”

The man says he plans to take a vacation and save the rest of his winnings.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
