An Iowa woman’s bad day turned around after one of the lottery tickets she bought on a whim turned out to be a big winner, lottery officials said.

“I was having the worst day at work, truly the worst day,” Deanna Field told Iowa Lottery officials, according to an Aug. 14 news release.

The Nora Springs woman told officials her bad day was what prompted her to buy the tickets, including one “Red White & Blue Cash” scratch-off game that ended up being a $10,000 winner.

The winner said she stared at the ticket and asked herself, “Am I really seeing this?”

“I think God knew I needed that,” Field told lottery officials.

According to the release, the woman’s first big purchase will be an adjustable bed.

Field bought her ticket at Casey’s in Clarksville.

Clarksville is about a 120-mile drive northeast from Des Moines.
