A 19-year-old man is accused of stabbing another man to death in a dispute over hot sauce at a Denver home, Colorado police reported.

George Vigil faces a charge of second-degree murder in the incident reported to police at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, Denver police said in a news release.

A frequent visitor to the home on North Federal Boulevard arrived and planned to make a sandwich, police said in an affidavit provided to McClatchy News.

He asked where the hot sauce was and Vigil responded that it was in his bedroom, police said. The two men fought before being separated by other residents of the home.

“Let’s take this outside,” the other man told Vigil, police said. When he approached Vigil, the 19-year-old stabbed him twice in his chest and back, police said.

A woman in the home called 911 to report the stabbing, police said.

“We need an ambulance here right away,” she told the dispatcher, according to police. “Right now. Right now. He’s bleeding to death, please.”

The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Vigil, who was covered in blood, was arrested without incident.
