A gambler tried their luck at a casino miles from the glitz and glamour of the Strip in Las Vegas.

Now, the person is “celebrating big wins,” Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall said in a Sept. 26 post on X, formerly known as twitter.

The player sat at a Jackpot Extreme Carnival slot machine, bet $1.76 and hit spin.

The symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared saying the gambler had won $10,712.88.

The casino said the player recently joined the Boyd Rewards membership.

Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall is about a five-mile drive east of the Strip.

Another gambler recently got lucky at the same casino.

A woman bet $1.20 on a Magic Treasures Dragon slot machine and won $11,459, McClatchy News reported.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
