Man forgot about scratch-off he bought. Then he got ‘shock of his life’ in California

A man’s lucky streak continued as he joined the “millionaires club” with a winning lottery scratch-off ticket he bought, California officials said.

Bradley Bullock woke up tired but “feeling lucky” after winning $2,000 at a casino with his friends the night before, according to an Oct. 2 news release from the California Lottery.

He ended the night with what he thought was “amazingly good luck,” officials said.

“I was able to sleep in a little because I didn’t have to work, but I needed a little caffeine pick-me-up, so I got an energy drink and a couple of scratchers,” Bullock said in the release.

He bought two Royal Riches tickets at a 7-Eleven in Santee, officials said.

He went home to relax and forgot about the tickets before remembering to check if they were winners, officials said.

Then came the “shock of his life” – a $10 million prize, per the release.

“I knew I’d won before I even scratched it because I scanned the barcode with the Lottery app,” he told officials. “So, I scratched to see if it was real.”

He decided to take the cash payout, which means he received $5.8 million, officials said.

Bullock didn’t specify what he’ll do with the winnings.

His lucky streak hadn’t died out just yet, officials said.

“The very next night, a buddy of mine was doing a staycation back at the casino, and we ended up combining to win twenty-nine grand,” the lucky winner told lottery officials.

Santee is about a 20-mile drive northeast of San Diego.
