Watch as cute grizzly marvels at snow — and captures snowflakes on tongue in Colorado

A beloved grizzly bear at a Colorado zoo was spotted marveling at the first snowfall of the season — and even catching snowflakes on his tongue, video shows.

Emmett, one of two grizzlies at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, lounges against a sloping wall of fallen snow in his enclosure and tilts his head back to watch it fall around him before sticking his tongue out and licking at the air to capture a couple flakes, video posted to the zoo’s Instagram account on Nov. 7 shows.

“10/10 snowflake catching technique, Emmett,” the zoo said. “Very comfy. Very efficient.”

Emmett shares the space at the zoo with his longtime roommate, Digger. The bears returned to their improved habitat in early September.

The zoo is about a 5-mile drive south from Colorado Springs.

Several people expressed their love for Emmett in the comments on the post.

“He looks beary comfortable!” someone said.

“So cute!” another person said.
