Bison frolic in fresh snow at Yellowstone, TikTok video shows. See ‘wholesome’ moment
Videos of excited cats and dogs zooming through snow are common — but seeing a 2,000-pound animal do it is a bit more fun.
A seasonal worker captured a video of a bison frolicking through fresh snowfall at Yellowstone National Park and shared it on TikTok.
“They make me emotional,” Josie Weaver said in the caption of the Nov. 26 video. “We’re all more similar than we think.”
The video shows a bison getting a sudden burst of energy and trying to play in the snow with a fellow member of its herd. It hops through the snow with its tail raised as it circles back around to its herd member.
The other bison doesn’t engage, so it trots off to try again.
The video goes on to show several bison engaged in a playful wrestling match and galloping through the snow.
“They play in the snow just like us,” a caption over the video says.
Several people commented on how wholesome the video was.
“We’re all just earthlings experiencing our planet for the first time,” someone said.
Someone else said they had never seen a bison frolic before.
“They are so wholesome,” Weaver replied.
“They’re just living for the first time like the rest of us,” another person said.
“I think all animals are a little more ‘human’ than most would come to expect,” someone suggested. “You just have to slow down long enough to notice.”
Several people also pointed out the bison’s “little hops” through the snow and said the creatures were “adorable” and “so pure.”
“How did I not know they can boing and be so cute,” someone asked.
“Their little boings are so cute,” someone agreed.
Some said they didn’t expect such a massive and majestic animal to act so carefree.
“Haha such a huge animal prancing around,” someone said.
“Wow I just realized I think of bison as such serious, stoic beasts but they can be so silly!” someone else said.
