Somebody is holding a Florida Lottery ticket worth $900,000. Here’s where it was sold

A lottery ticket worth $900,000 was sold at a Florida grocery store, though the lucky owner may not know it yet.

The drawing was held Friday, Dec. 20, and the winning Jackpot Triple Play ticket has the numbers 1-4-13-28-39-45, Florida Lottery officials said.

Lottery officials say that as of Dec. 23, the winner has not claimed their prize.

That Dec. 20 date is significant to the winner’s friends and relatives, because it means he or she got rich with four days still left for Christmas shopping.

The $1 ticket was sold at a Publix in Brooksville, about a 50-mile drive north from Tampa, Florida Lottery officials said.

The $1 ticket was sold at a Publix supermarket on Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville, about a 50-mile drive north from Tampa, lottery officials said.

Odds of winning a jackpot prize in the game are 1 in 3,122,273.33, the lottery reports.

Jackpot Triple Play tickets have an expiration date, which is typically about 180 days.

A prize the size of $900,000 means the winner has to show up in person — via walk-in or by appointment — at a Lottery District Office to get the money, officials said.

Tickets in Jackpot Triple Play feature three sets of numbers (from 1 to 46) each of which offers a chance to win.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
