A bright-eyed kitten named Stevie is on the look out for a warm and loving home after powering through a deadly situation with the help of a Texas shelter.

The South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lubbock calls a young, snowshoe kitten with blue eyes a “survivor” after she was delivered to them in a dire state.

“She was found close to the Texas Tech campus by a student at about 8 weeks of age. It was evident quickly that Stevie was in grave danger and very sick,” the shelter said in a Dec. 27 Facebook post. “She began circling and having seizures. She was rushed to the vet where she was diagnosed with possible toxoplasmosis also causing blindness.”

Thankfully, the kitten was brought to the shelter just in time.

“With a quick diagnosis and medicine, Stevie has made a remarkable recovery and has regained her sight. She is a healthy, active kitten with no lasting effects and is now ready for her forever indoor home,” the shelter said.

The shelter says it would be better for Stevie if there was another cat in her new home to show her the ropes.
