Special garden surprise evokes Disneyland in California estate for sale. See it

A picturesque home that looks like it was pulled from the set of a family-friendly show on Disney Channel has landed on the real estate market in sunny La Canada Flintridge in California.

Listed for $8.5 million, while the home itself stands out thanks to its east coast seaside vibes, the true feature that everyone is flocking toward is what’s in the backyard: a five-passenger garden railroad.

“A captivating blend of stately, bucolic and magical, this property has every feature you’d expect in a private estate, plus one not found elsewhere: a custom rideable train,” real estate agent Kathy Seuylemezian said in a news release.

“The Flintheim Railroad is the modern incarnation of the area’s rich history of backyard trains, including a replica of the famous Grizzly Flats Railroad train shed.”

The creative backyard joy was designed by Bill Tyson, a Walt Disney “Imagineer,” his obituary says.

“Evoking Disneyland, the railroad includes a train station with crossing light, tunnel, two bridges, general store and mining camp,” a news release says.

The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home has additional unique features, per the listing, that are in and around the property including:

  • Swimming pool

  • Two-level deck

  • Rose garden

  • Vegetable garden

  • Covered portico

  • Guest house

  • Gym

  • Bar

  • Dog play area

“For added convenience and security, the estate includes a Generac 20kW generator with a backup propane tank, San Marino security system and Ring cameras,” the listing on Coldwell Banker Realty says. “The two-car garage and two-car carport are complemented by a large, flat circular driveway that can securely park a dozen vehicles.”

La Canada Flintridge is about 15-miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

The home is currently listed as “pending.”
