Dad fatally shoots 4-year-old, then car breaks down on way to hospital, OK cops say

A man shot his girlfriend and their 4-year-old son, killing the young boy, Oklahoma authorities say.

Tulsa officers responded to an apartment Aug. 24 for a report of a shooting when they learned the accused shooter, Jaylen Green, was driving to a hospital with the two victims, according to an Aug. 25 post on Facebook.

Green’s car broke down, allowing officers to catch up to him, police said. A 4-year-old boy was found unresponsive in the car.

Police said the 4-year-old, who was the victim’s son, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Green is also accused of shooting his girlfriend, who was hospitalized with severe wounds, police said, adding that she is expected to recover.

A motive for the shooting was unclear as of Aug. 25.

Green was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest, according to police.
