A group of dogs is finally being shown what true love actually feels like after being rescued by a shelter in Texas.

Meet “The Resilient 10,” a batch of dogs who were stuck in a dangerous situation with a human that should have loved them, Austin Pets Alive! said in an Oct. 27 Facebook post.

“We’ve just been granted access to help a group of dogs who were deeply wronged by the very person meant to care for them. Now, we’re moving quickly to help them leave their painful past behind,” the shelter said.

Due to the pups’ unwavering strength, the shelter gave them their now famous nickname.

“10 dogs, who we’re calling “The Resilient 10,” were discovered abandoned in a trailer home when someone noticed a foul odor,” the shelter said.

“Authorities were called and the dogs were taken into custody, where they first found refuge with Kerrville Pets Alive, who reached out to APA! for help.”

Due to legal restrictions, the dogs couldn’t be completely released into the full care of the shelter, though they were immediately helped with their medical conditions.

“We had to allow the justice process to begin, and speaking publicly about their case could have jeopardized their fate,” the shelter said.

“Today, we learned that the court has declared that these animals were cruelly treated via neglect and abandonment and the previous owner has been divested of ownership!”

The shelter said fosters have been secured for four of the dogs, but six still need a warm bed to curl up into.
