Someone is making a ‘Keurig for pot’
Keurig was a coffee machine brand that quickly became a household name, synonymous with its product.
CannaKorp is hoping to do the same thing, but with weed.
The CannaCloud allows users to “comfortably enjoy a convenient and efficient vapor,” according to the website. They have CannaCloud Kups that contain different strains of marijuana, that users can easily pop into the vaporizer and use.
Each cup comes pre-filled with cannabis and are, “sealed to lock in flavor, aroma and freshness that ensures a great experience every time.”
Michael Bourque founded the company with Dave Manly, who was a longtime Keurig executive, so the comparison is not accidental, according to the Boston Globe.
“People said, ‘Oh my God, how fast can I have one of those?’” Manly told the Globe, describing a focus group they conducted with potential customers. “Which is exactly what people said when they saw the Keurig.”
Borque said he came up with the idea after he tried marijuana to treat his anxiety by smoking it as a joint and hated it. So he came up with the CannaCloud to ingest marijuana easily and absorb its effects without burning the plant.
“We’re a company that’s medically oriented,” Bourque said. “However, we know that the recreational market is going to go crazy over this, and we like that.”
The site allows you to pre-order the CannaCloud.
