Woman’s nude photos raise thousands for Australia fire relief. Instagram shut her down

Horrified by the inferno in Australia, a 20-year-old online model in Los Angeles wondered what she could do, BuzzFeed reports.

“I already have people who will buy nude photos of me, so I asked all my followers who already send me money anyway to send that in for a good cause,” said Kaylen Ward, Australia’s 10 Daily reported.

Ward posted to Twitter Jan. 3 offering one nude photo for each verified donation of $10 or more to one of the charities listed in her post. Contributors must send her a screenshot of an online receipt for the donation to receive a photo. (The full Twitter post is not safe for work, by the way).

By Sunday, she estimated she had raised $600,000 and said she had hired a team to help her process the responses, BuzzFeed reported. And she changed her online name to “The Naked Philanthropist.”

“When I first started I was nervous, super anxious,” Ward said, 10 Daily reported. “But five minutes later, my inbox was flooded and those thoughts went out the window.”

Instagram, however, doesn’t seem to be down with Ward’s new charity efforts. The site shut down her account Saturday, Ward reported on Twitter. The notice said she had violated the site’s community standards.

Ward says she hasn’t broken any rules and plans to continue her charity fundraising effort, which is based on Twitter, BuzzFeed reported. Instagram did not respond to a request for comment, according to the publication.
