Former Kentucky governor Steve Beshear was involved in a car accident Wednesday morning, according to his son, Gov. Andy Beshear.

The 46-year-old governor added that his father Steve, 79, will “make a full recovery.”

The accident involved only the vehicle that Steve Beshear was in.

“Yesterday morning, my father was in a single-car accident. He will make a full recovery,” Beshear posted to social media site X Thursday morning.

“Our family appreciates all the kind words and prayers we’ve received. God is good, even when things are tough. Dad is going to be OK.”

The elder Beshear is still involved in politics, regularly giving speeches at political events and advising his son.

In today’s post, Beshear joked tha this father had already begun bending his ear on political matters.

“He’s already calling me to offer even more advice!”

The younger Beshear is considered to be a strong contender for the vice presidential spot on the ticket with Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee.
