Kentucky Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman to announce political plans Monday
Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman will make an announcement about her political plans for the future Monday.
Coleman spokesperson JT Henderson said Coleman will make an announcement at a political event.
Coleman, 43, has served as lieutenant governor alongside Gov. Andy Beshear since 2019 and has championed public education during her time in office.
She is a former educator and basketball coach who taught and worked as an administrator in public schools in Mercer, Jessamine and Nelson counties.
Coleman is also a mother and stepmother who in 2020 became the first Kentucky lieutenant governor to give birth while serving in office.
And amid a cancer scare in 2023, she underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery just days after being sworn in to her second term.
Last summer, she was named chair-elect of the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association for 2026-27.
