The U.S. Department of Homeland Security wished Americans a “Happy Kentucky Derby” Saturday afternoon by posting a video that appeared to depict Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on horseback rounding up a man in the southwest.

As the familiar notes of the “Call to the Post” played in the background of the 9-second video, images on the screen showed uniformed horseback riders riding across a rugged landscape, followed by more closeup images of a man wearing a backpack with his hands up, horsemen on either side of him.

The face of the man was visible in the video, while the face of what appeared to be an agent was blurred out.

The video, shared on the social media platform X, closed with the words, “Happy Kentucky Derby” above the Homeland Security seal.

Within several hours, the video had been reposted more than 550 times and had received a range of responses expressing both approval and disapproval.
