Obama helps Democrat capture House district in Western Kentucky
With the help of President Obama, Democrats kept control of the 8th House District, which includes parts of Christian and Trigg counties in Western Kentucky.
Obama made automated phone calls Tuesday to voters in the district, urging them to support Democrat Jeffrey R. Taylor over Republican Walker Hood Thomas.
The district had been represented by Democrat John Tilley, who left the legislature to become Republican Gov. Matt Bevin’s justice secretary.
