The Democratic race for president is heating up in Kentucky.

Former President Bill Clinton will be in the commonwealth to campaign for his wife, Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday, the same day that her rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, will hold a rally in Louisville.

On Monday, Hillary Clinton will rally in Ashland as part of a tour of Appalachia. Her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, was in Lexington last week.

The Clinton campaign said Sunday in a news release that Bill Clinton would attend public events in Morehead, Lexington and Louisville. Details weren’t released.

According to Sanders’ website, his rally on the Big Four Lawn in Louisville’s Waterfront Park will be free and open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served; gates open at 4 p.m.

Kentucky’s Democratic presidential primary is May 17.
