Early voting starts this week. Here are dates and locations for Lexington

Early in-person voting for the May primary starts Thursday in Kentucky.

Fayette County voters can vote at any of the following library locations from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.

Those early voter locations include:

  • Central Library, 140 East Main St.
  • Beaumont Branch Library, 3080 Fieldstone Way
  • Northside Library, 1733 Russell Cave Road
  • Eastside Library, 3000 Blake James Drive
  • Tates Creek Library, 3628 Walden Drive
  • Marksbury Family Branch Library, 2197 Versailles Road

Absentee voting starts Monday, May 11, and continues until Friday at the Fayette County Clerk’s office at 62 E. Main St., Room 202. This voting method is restricted to voters who meet the specific qualifying reasons for absentee ballots, including those in their third trimester of pregnancy, and election officers tasked with administration of the current election cycle.

Primary election day is May 19, 2026. All Fayette County registered voters may vote at any Lexington Public Library or may vote at their designated precinct. Residents can find their voting information and precinct location on the secretary of state’s website. A sample ballot can be found on the Fayette County clerk’s website. Polls are open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day.
