About 8,500 chainsaws have been recalled. They might keep running even when turned off
It might sound like a horror movie, a chain saw that won’t turn off even when switched off, but the possible scary reality caused DeWALT to recall 8,500 DWCS600, 18-inch corded chain saws on Wednesday.
The exact problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission release: “The chain saw can remain running when the switch is on the off position or turn on when plugged in, posing an injury hazard to the user.”
That hasn’t happened yet, according to the company.
This covers chain saws with date codes 2021 23-H5 to 2021 40-H5, which can be found on the chain saw bottom, behind the chain/bar.
