Publix among stores in recall of foods that might have plastic pieces

No kind of food should have plastic, which is why MorningStar Farms made the latest not-food-in-your-food recall across the United States, including Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica.

The vegetarian and plant-based protein company pulled 10-ounce packs of MorningStar Farms Buffalo Chik’n Nuggets, expiration July 7 or 8, 2027, and 8-ounce packs of Hot and Spicy Sausage Patties, expiration July 5, 6, or 7, 2027 “because of possible plastic pieces in the food.”

The recall notice, which didn’t mention how this happened, was posted first among the nation’s leading grocers by Publix.

If you have either recalled product, return it to the store for a full refund. Or, toss it.

Questions should be directed to MorningStar by phone call (800-962-0120) or text (877-453-5837), Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time.
