Three dead after Saturday night car crash on Bluegrass Parkway
Three people, including two teenagers, were killed after a Saturday night car crash on the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County.
The crash happened before 11:30 p.m. at the 18-mile marker of the Bluegrass Parkway, according to a press release from Kentucky State Police. Police say a 17-year-old boy was traveling westbound in a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. The driver was accompanied by a 16-year-old girl and Daniel Guerrerro Jr., 22, of Upton, who were both passengers.
For unknown reasons, the car spun out of control and exited the roadway striking a rock wall, police said. The teenagers died at the scene. Guerrerro was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown and then airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died, the release said.
The westbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway were closed for about five hours while state police reconstructed the accident.
