Montgomery County school officials find student with knife after rumors of threat

A Montgomery County High School student allegedly brought a knife to school Friday, according to principal Rocky Franz.

In a letter to parents, Franz said an investigation was done by school administration and law enforcement Friday after hearing rumors of a threat and a knife being brought to school.

Franz said disciplinary action will occur.

“During events like this, rumors can expand and spread, which is why we wanted to make you aware of this as soon as possible,” Franz told parents.

He encouraged parents to talk to their children about school safety and reminded them anyone can report unsafe or dangerous situations to the Safe School Helpline at 1-800-41-VOICE ext. 359 or safeschoolhelpline.com.
