Woman allegedly broke into Kentucky deputy jailer’s home, cleaned and slept in it.
A woman who broke into the home of a Lincoln County deputy jailer Saturday allegedly cleaned, showered and slept before she was found, police said.
Heather Owens, 38, is accused of breaking into the Crab Orchard home of Erica Sampson Saturday and cleaning the entire house except for the dirty dishes, according to WKYT. She is also accused of taking a shower and sleeping in Sampson’s bed, WKYT reported.
LEX 18 said Sampson was finishing an overnight shift at the jail when she found Owens in her home about 10:30 a.m.
“When I went in the house, the house was clean and the dogs didn’t bark and so I walked in and I kind of listened and she came from out of the kitchen,” Sampson told LEX 18.
Sampson asked Owens why she was in her home, and Owens then asked the deputy jailer the same question, WTVQ reported. Owens then grabbed a knife and went after the deputy jailer, before the deputy jailer ran her out of the home.
Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies found Owens on U.S. 150 near Ky. 643, according to her arrest citation. Deputies found two syringes and a marijuana pipe in her backpack, along with a knife and a key chain belonging to Sampson, according to court records.
Owens was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and burglary.
Owens was put in the Lincoln County Regional Jail.
Sampson told LEX 18 it was the fourth time someone has broken into her home.
