Small child found dead in a Kentucky pond after walking away from home, police say
A small child’s body was found in a pond in Trigg County, Kentucky State Police said.
KSP deputies were alerted to the body Tuesday, they said. They believe the child walked away from home in Cadiz earlier in the morning, and was located by a neighbor in the pond, which is near the residence.
The Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson pronounced the child dead at the scene, police said.
State police said they were still investigating, but the coroner’s office said the death appeared to be accidental. No foul play is suspected.
