This Kentucky city was named a top pet-friendly travel destination
Motel 6 and travel site BestPlaces released a list March 31 ranking the top 10 pet-friendly cities for travel in the U.S.
Richmond, Ky. was listed as No. 7 in the country.
Selection criteria included access to dog parks, hiking trails and grassy areas, as well as proximity to veterinarians, pet stores and dog-friendly patios.
Other destinations in the top 10 included Santa Monica, Calif., Rockville, Md., Santa Fe, N.M., Mount Pleasant, S.C., Newport, R.I., Gloucester, Mass., Bend, Ore., Asheville, N.C., and Charlottesville, Va.

Lake Reba is home to Judy Rains Memorial Dog Park, which has a fenced area where dogs can run off leash. There are separate paddocks for large and small dogs.
