A photo taken at Corbin High School depicting a white student holding a noose around a Black student’s neck is being investigated by the Corbin Independent Schools District, Superintendent David Cox said in a statement.

The photo was taken in a classroom on school grounds, according to WKYT.

“Corbin school administration is investigating the incident and in no way condones the content of the referenced photograph,” Cox said in the statement.

Cox said appropriate action will be taken upon the completion of the investigation.
