An anonymous woman from Bowling Green has come forward as the holder of a winning Kentucky Lottery Powerball ticket worth $2 million.

“I about fell over,” the woman said, telling Kentucky Lottery officials of her reaction when her husband got home and told her the news.

The woman’s husband bought multiple Powerball tickets for the Oct. 17 drawing with plans to divide them up among his family members. He’d purchased them at the Speedway on Nashville Road, and the jackpot for the drawing was $480 million.

The woman’s winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers, but not the red Powerball, to win the game’s second-place prize. However, because her husband spent an extra $1 for the Power Play feature, her prize amount was doubled to $2 million.

Her winning numbers were 19, 30, 36, 46 and 60.

The couple made the drive to lottery headquarters in Louisville Oct. 27 to claim their prize. The woman received a check for $1.42 million after taxes.

They told officials they plan to invest the winnings and already had an appointment with a financial planner.

The Speedway will receive a bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning ticket, according to the Kentucky Lottery news release.
