No jackpot, but 4 more Kentucky Powerball players win big, including 2 in Lexington

A California lottery player walked away with the historic, jackpot-winning $2.04 billion Powerball ticket, but several Kentucky players also won big.

According to a Tuesday release from Kentucky Lottery, the state had four winners taking home big earnings from the Nov. 8 draw: three $50,000 winners and one $100,000 winner.

They are the latest in a string of Kentucky winners during the latest Powerball run, with four other big winning tickets sold for the Nov. 5 draw.

“This jackpot was quite a run, and while a Kentucky Lottery player won’t claim the top prize, the Commonwealth still wins,” Mary Harville, president and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery, stated in the release.

All four of Monday night’s big winners in the commonwealth matched four of the numbers and the Powerball. The $100,000 winner also paid an extra $1 for the Power Play option to double their winnings.

The Nov. 8 winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and Powerball 10.

The Power Play number drawn was 2.

According to a separate release Tuesday, the $100,000 winning ticket was sold at Pilot Travel Center No. 392 in Sonora, while the three $50,000 winning tickets were sold at:

  • Speedway No. 9392 in Louisville
  • Minit Mart No. 664 on Towne Center Drive in Lexington
  • Kroger L-768 on Leestown Road in Lexington

“Jackpots like this create so much fun and excitement to think about what someone might do with their winnings and, regardless of whether a jackpot is claimed, Kentucky always wins,” Harville said. “All lottery sales in Kentucky benefit college students through grants and scholarships, and our retailers earn commissions on sales as well, so it’s a win-win.”

The Kentucky Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a secure location. Winners much visit the office in Louisville to claim their prize within 180 days of the draw.
