Senior living home says its Super Bowl show was better than Rihanna’s. See for yourself
A reenactment of Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show is catching TikTok by storm — and is sure to lead to fewer complaints.
This performance wasn’t by the pop music superstar, nor did it include anyone being on a platform hundreds of feet in the air. But residents of Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, are racking up the views all the same.
“Our halftime show > Rihanna’s halftime show,” the senior home said in its TikTok video, which featured 12 of its residents.
Eleven women in all white — just like Rihanna’s backup dancers during the Super Bowl 57 halftime show — are shown in the video exiting the frame for the star of the video.
Dressed in red, akin to Rihanna, the final woman takes center stage to lip sync the pop star’s song “Rude Boy.”
The video, shared on TikTok in late February, had more than 26 million views as of Wednesday, March 1.
“It was all in good fun, never thinking we would go viral — even though we’ve always hoped to because how awesome would that be?” Paige Oakes, community relations director of the facility, told McKnight’s Senior Living.
Jay-Z, who owns the record label to which Rihanna is signed, caught wind of the video and sent the residents dozens of roses.
Everyone was ready for the follow-up video, and the assisted living center did not disappoint. Three women were seen in a March 1 video strutting their stuff to the Chris Brown song “Look at Me Now.”
TikTok can’t get enough of the residents and their videos.
“Do we have to wait until we’re seniors to live there?” one woman commented.
“This is the best thing I’ve seen today. Thanks for sharing,” another said.
