After winning $40 from another ticket, a woman from Grant County decided to press her luck and purchase two Wild Numbers 100x tickets from a convenience store in Dry Ridge.

“I saw the 5X symbol on the first one, then again, then again,” the winner, who wished to remain anonymous, told Kentucky Lottert officials. She snagged wins on all 20 spots on the ticket, securing her prize.

The winner shared the news with her family as soon as she found out she would be $500,000 richer.

“I panicked! I called my sister, then my dad. I couldn’t believe it was real,” she said. “My kids were jumping up and down, but they didn’t even know why.”

The odds of winning any prize on the Wild Numbers 100X game is 1 in 3.7, but most prized amount to $20 or $25.

She won has $5,000 in the past, lottery officials reported, which she used for a down payment on a car for her daughter.

“Now I can pay it off,” she said.

She cashed in her winning ticket Tuesday at lottery headquarters and received a $357,500 check after taxes.

“She also plans to purchase a house, maybe some land, and help out her family,” Kentucky Lottery officials wrote in an April 26 release.

The lucky retailer, Fas Mart on Taft Highway in Dry Ridge, will receive $5,000 for selling the ticket.
