Body found in a Kentucky high school’s parking lot. Police investigating

Knox County Public Schools canceled in-person classes Thursday after an adult body was found on school property, according to the school district.

The body was found in the parking lot of Knox Central High School. The school district said the person is not believed to be associated with Knox County Public Schools and the death is not school-related.

“While this incident occurred on school property, this is non school related and the person is not believed to have direct connection to the Knox County Public Schools,” the school district said in a statement posted to Facebook.

The school district said it would use a non-traditional instruction day to allow police uninhibited access to the scene. It’s unknown if the school plans to reopen Friday. More information about the incident wasn’t immediately available.
