A young man who is thought to be autistic and non-verbal was found along Interstate 75 Saturday morning.

The Laurel County sheriff’s office, which had asked for the public’s help identifying him, said the youth had been identified and taken into the custody of the Department for Community Based Services Saturday afternoon.

The youth, who is believed to be between 15 and 20 years old, was found two miles north of London, at I-75 mile marker 43, at 5:40 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London for observation.

The sheriff’s office released a photo Saturday afternoon and asked that anyone who recognizes the person in it call them at 606-864-6600.
