ATV crash sends 2 to UK Hospital with serious injuries. Driver charged with DUI

An 81-year-old man and a minor suffered serious injuries in an ATV crash Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.

The wreck happened on Kentucky 744 (Newton Lane) in Taylor County Monday afternoon. KSP said the man, James Hare of Campbellsville, was driving the ATV when he went off the shoulder of the road, over-corrected and caused the ATV to flip.

Hare was taken to Taylor Regional Hospital and was then transferred to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with serious injuries, according to KSP. The minor passenger was flown to UK Hospital from the scene.

Hare was charged with DUI, first-degree wanton endangerment and other traffic offenses, KSP said.
