Collision in Northern Kentucky causes hours-long traffic backup on Interstate 75

Traffic on Interstate 75 was backed up for hours Tuesday afternoon because of a collision in the southbound lanes in Grant County.

The crash at mile marker 166 just south of the Crittenden exit caused all lanes of I-75 South to be shut down, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in a Facebook post.

Crittenden Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post that the interstate had reopened by 3:44 p.m., but the agency said “there is still a lot of trafic in the Crittenden area. Please use caution.”

Before the road reopened, traffic was detoured onto U.S. 25 southbound at the Crittenden exit, according to the Transportation Cabinet.
