A contractor in Louisville died Wednesday after falling off a building, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

The incident happened Wednesday at the Brown-Forman building at 850 Dixie Highway. Sgt. Matt Sanders from LMPD said a contractor fell from scaffolding six stories up and died.

LMPD isn’t investigating the death and it was considered a workplace accident, according to Sanders.

“There’s no malice or criminal intent, this is civil-type stuff,” Sanders said.

Elizabeth Conway, a spokesperson for Brown-Forman, which is a major distillery company headquartered in Lousville, confirmed the contractor’s death but offered no additional detail about the incident.

“Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time,” Conway said in an email.
