Last month, after we shared some Kentucky communities that will pay individuals to relocate and work remotely, several of our readers wrote to us with questions about where they can find such jobs.

In answer, we’ve rounded up five actively hiring remote work positions, four of which offer starting salaries at or above $50,000 annually.

Each of the positions below were recruiting as of April 15, though you may want to apply immediately to take advantage of these opportunities.

Additionally, while each of these jobs are classified as remote positions, they may require some on-site work. Some positions also include internet speed requirements for work from home. Make sure to read each job description carefully and know what you’re getting into before applying.

Accountant - Humana

  • Job type: Remote/hybrid

  • Location: Louisville

  • Posted pay range: $57,700 to $79,500 annually

  • Summary: According to the job’s description, “this position will assist in the reporting process of the Eastern division for Medicare. Primary focus will be on capitation accruals/payments, and other provider details.”

  • Job duties, per the description:

    • Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

    • Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget.

    • Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Understands department, segment and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.

    • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedure.

  • Job requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree

    • Two to five years of accounting experience

    • Two to five years Excel (ability to create pivot tables, work with large data sets)

Community Health Worker and Engagement Specialist - Humana

  • Job type: Remote/hybrid

  • Location: Pikeville

  • Posted pay range: $48,500 to $66,900 annually

  • Summary: The job’s description states, “Humana Horizons in Kentucky is seeking a Community Health Worker and Engagement Specialist to join our growing team. This role cultivates the organization’s social community through community advocacy programs and active engagement with Humana Healthy Horizons in Kentucky enrollees as well as members of the general community.”

  • Job duties, among others:

    • Strategizes methods to scale communities and drive greater connections among community members. Engages new community members.

    • Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards.

    • Makes decisions regarding own work approach/priorities and follows direction.

    • Work is managed and often guided by precedent and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with some interpretation.

  • Job requirements, per the description:

    • Minimum two years professional human services experience or recent service in the same role, working in-person with consumers conducting assessments and/or developing care plans.

    • Minimum one year of community outreach and/or marketing and sales experience.

    • Community Health Worker Certification must be obtained within six months of hire date.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    • Experience using a variety of electronic information applications/software programs.

Developer - Everlight Solar

  • Job type: Work-from-home/remote

  • Posted pay range: $95,000 to $100,000 annually

  • Summary: Everlight Solar, a solar energy company based in Wisconsin, is seeking a skilled Salesforce developer with MuleSoft experience. The position’s description specifies the developer “will design and code functional programs and applications, producing fully functional software applications according to requirements.” The candidate must own a Mac computer and be familiar with the Apple ecosystem of software.

  • Job duties, per the job advertisement:

    • Ensure consistent alignment of sales and marketing to optimize the sales process with a focus on improving and evolving a qualified lead process, distribution and management.

    • Provide sales and marketing with accurate reporting on the organization’s key performance indicators on a consistent basis including actionable steps to improve the experience delivered to current and future customers.

    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.

    • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

    • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes.

Specialist Business Development - Pearson

  • Job type: Hybrid

  • Location: Frankfort

  • Posted pay range: $80,000 to $100,000 annually

  • Summary: Pearson, an education company, is looking for a business development manager who can help grow its Pearson VUE and Certiport services. The position calls for a candidate skilled in managing client relationships, collaboration and strategic thinking.

  • Job duties include:

    • Identify new business opportunities in the assigned business markets.

    • Work with clients to develop and implement mutually beneficial programs to grow the overall size of the client’s testing program and Pearson VUE’s market share.

    • Be continuously aware of opportunities to grow Pearson VUE’s business and to protect Pearson VUE’s position within existing accounts.

    • Establish relationships with key decision makers at the C-suite and other appropriate executive level positions.

    • Work closely with proposal and solution development and implementation teams pre- and post-contract award.

Licensed Insurance Sales Representative - State Farm

  • Job type: Remote

  • Posted pay range: $52,000 to $85,000 annually

  • Summary: The job’s primary responsibility will be to “help grow the agency by engaging new prospects and building strong relationships within the community,” according to the description.

  • Job duties include:

    • Service existing customers and assist with processing new insurance applications.

    • Enhance insurance agency reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

    • Prospect and initiate new business sales while building business referral relationships.

    • Execute, plan and implement office processes.

    • Maintain reports and records of insurance policies.

    • Process applications.

    • Maintain regular contact with clients and answer questions and make changes to existing policies.

  • Job requirements include:

    • License to sell insurance

    • Two years of previous sales experience is preferred
