Herald-Leader plans 3 community meetings to explain next step in its digital transition

The Lexington Herald-Leader, a part of Kentucky since 1870, is so much more than a newspaper.

We’re a digital powerhouse that covers news as it happens, from the University of Kentucky’s biggest games to breaking developments in Frankfort.

We’re a watchdog, vigilantly guarding taxpayers’ dollars and interests while ensuring public agencies and government employees do the work of Kentuckians in the light of day.

We’re a constant source of close-to-home news, however you may want it — on social media, in several daily newsletters and on your smartphone, tablet or computer.

But more than anything, the Herald-Leader and kentucky.com are your neighbors.

And that’s why we’re inviting you to spend time with our staff and a customer service representative next week to hear about our vision for our print editions, our digital sites and our commitment to serving you.

We are hosting two free, public meetings at Lexington libraries and a third session for subscribers at our newsroom near Greyline Station. You can find us:

July 17: Central Library Branch, Room B, 5:30-7 p.m. It has a capacity of 40. The address of the branch is 140 E. Main St. in downtown Lexington.

July 18: Marksbury Family Branch Library, Community Room B, 9:30 a.m. to noon. It has a capacity of 135. The address of the branch is 2197 Versailles Road, Lexington.

July 18: 5-7 p.m. at the Herald-Leader, 105 W. Loudon Avenue in Lexington, adjacent to Greyline Station.

As you know, the Herald-Leader is reducing to three print editions weekly (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) starting Aug. 5, while expanding its commitment to better serving our digital readers on kentucky.com.

I invite you to spend time with our team. And, please, bring any questions, concerns or requests you might have related to our products and the vision for serving Kentucky for another 154 years.

I’m eager to see you next week.

Please click on our RSVP page (kentucky.com/event) where you can get more information and register for one of our three free events. It will help me track how many people will be attending

And, as always, thanks for reading the Herald-Leader and kentucky.com
