Kentucky man plans to buy a Harley after hitting it big on lottery scratch-off ticket
Some people have all the luck. It’s safe to count Ronald Carson — who bought a winning $50,000 scratch-off ticket after cashing in a separate Kentucky lottery win — among them.
Carson had stopped at Gasoline Alley on April Way in Winchester July 20 to cash in a Pick 3 ticket worth $2,700. He bought two $50 Millionaire Club tickets. On one ticket, he uncovered its first spot and saw he’d won $1,000, thinking at the time, “well, at least I won $1,000.”
He kept scratching, however, revealing winnings on every spot, including a bonus $50,000, the game’s second-place prize. The game’s top prize is $1 million. The overall odds on the game are 1 in 2.98.
“I was pretty excited,” Carson told Kentucky Lottery officials when he visited the agency’s Louisville headquarters to collect his winnings July 22.
Carson’s win isn’t the only Millionaire Club win of the summer. In June, a Breathitt County woman also won $50,000.
In this case, the convenience store Carson bought his ticket at will also see a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
For his part, Carson told lottery officials he plans to but a Harley motorcycle with his winnings.
