High housing costs, concerns about crime and a longing for more breathing room have prompted many Americans to exit big cities in favor of remote work in the countryside.

That includes Eastern Kentucky, where several counties in the region are hoping to use the work-from-home boom to revive their economies after the collapse of coal.

But if you’ve looked at online job boards recently, you might be wondering where exactly all these remote work jobs are. An explosion of “ghost jobs” and scam listings on these websites makes looking for a remote job feel like an impossible task.

To help you cut through the clutter, we’ve rounded up a handful of remote jobs you can do in Kentucky, some of which are advertising six-figure salaries.

While we cannot guarantee any of these postings will lead to an interview, each of the positions below were accepting applications as of Friday, Oct. 25. In an attempt to verify these jobs are actually hiring, we’ve made sure the postings are being advertised either on the company’s LinkedIn account or its website.

If you’re interested in any of these roles, you may want to apply sooner rather than later, given the application window could close at any time. While each of these roles are advertised as “remote,” the definition of that could vary by company and industry. Make sure to read the job description carefully.
