We want to find the cutest dog in Kentucky. Nominate your furry friend in our contest

This good girl, a chocolate lab named Derby, calls Lexington home. She’s not eligible to compete in the Herald-Leader’s contest to find the cutest dog in Kentucky, but we assure you, she’s one of a kind.
This good girl, a chocolate lab named Derby, calls Lexington home. She’s not eligible to compete in the Herald-Leader’s contest to find the cutest dog in Kentucky, but we assure you, she’s one of a kind.

If your dog is the goodest boy or girl, the Herald-Leader wants to help you show the world.

This month, we’re searching for Kentucky’s cutest dog, and we’re asking our readers for their assistance. This follows our polling for the cutest cat, which had more than 100 entries and ultimately led us to crowning Lexington feline Millie, a rescue with a unique foster story.

From Thursday, Nov. 14, to noon Sunday, Nov. 17, we’re collecting submissions. We reserve the right to close submissions early due to volume, and no late entries will be accepted.

Over the next few weeks, Herald-Leader subscribers will vote for their favorites until the champion is crowned.

You can nominate your dog by filling out this Google Form. For fairness, we’re setting a limit of one submission per person.

You’ll need the following to enter your dog as a competitor:

  1. Your dog’s name and age

  2. Your dog’s breed (if you know it)

  3. Tell us about their hobbies or a fun fact about them

  4. Tell us how they came into your life

  5. Where in Kentucky your dog lives

  6. The cutest photo you have of your dog

Voting will start next week and reset after each round. Any reader can submit their dog for the contest, but voting will only be open to Herald-Leader subscribers.

When voting does open, subscribers can vote as many times as they like.

To subscribe, visit Kentucky.com/subscribe for a list of offers, including an initial rate of 99 cents for one month. A subscription to the Lexington Herald-Leader not only supports our daily coverage of Fayette County and Central Kentucky, but statewide news coverage and investigative work.

The winner of our contest will appear in a news story on Kentucky.com.
