Mouse found on ‘freezing winter night’ gets fresh start at KY shelter. He needs a home
An adorable companion is in need of a loving home at a Kentucky shelter — and it’s one you don’t see too often.
Stuart Little, a curious white mouse with bright reddish pink eyes, was discovered in the nick of time by a friendly human who wasn’t about to let the tiny guy turn into a rodent popsicle.
“Found outside on a freezing winter night, Stuart’s journey began with a stroke of luck and kindness. Despite the chilly start to his story, this tiny survivor is full of life, love, and an abundance of personality,” the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society said in a Jan. 29 Facebook post.
A shelter is a safe space for Stuart, who has a love for humans, it seems.
“Stuart is incredibly social — he adores human interaction and thrives on companionship. Unlike most mice who prefer to scurry away, Stuart loves to be held, often curling up in the warmth of a gentle hand,” the shelter said. ”His sweet nature makes him a joy to be around, and he never fails to bring a smile to those who meet him.”
The shelter is adamant that Stuart is not a feeder mouse, which are bred to be fed to reptiles, namely snakes.
“He is a cherished pet, deserving of love, care, and all the best things in life,” the shelter said. “Whether he’s exploring his habitat, nibbling on treats, or enjoying snuggles, Stuart is proof that even the smallest creatures can leave the biggest impressions.”
